Leaks and rumors of the NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1060 spreading like wildfire as we wait for NVIDIA to finally launch its Pascal architecture based mid-end GPU. Alleged launch price, specifications and performance comparison has become some of the most discussed topic among PC gamers and PC enthusiast throughout the globe. PurePC has decided to spice things up a little bit more by releasing a series of photos of the GeForce GTX 1060.
The packaging of the NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1060 Founders Edition shares a strong resemblance to the packaging of both the GeForce GTX 1070 and GTX 1080 Founders Edition.
The GeForce GTX 1060 as pictured, features a blower style cooler like all previous reference design from NVIDIA, similar shroud design to both GeForce GTX 1070 and GeForce GTX 1080 Founders Edition but with a slight more of the black accent to it.
The GeForce GTX 1060 features a much compact PCB design with an extension unit on the PCB to support the cooling fan as well as to make the card looks a little better. The rumor on GTX 1060 not supporting SLI configuration turns out to be true as SLI fingers is no where to be found on the PCB.
The GeForce GTX 1060 also features a single 6-pin power connector and a power connector that is actually located at the very rear of the graphics card instead of the usual design where the power connector is located at the middle of the graphics card with shorter PCB. This makes a whole lot more sense when it comes to cable management, having a cable that goes to the middle of the graphics card looks bad and you know it.
