The GTX 1080 Rival Might Arrive Earlier Than Expected As AMD Teases Its Vega GPU Launch

While the AMD enthusiasts waited patiently for the Vega 10 GPU launch after AMD Radeon Technologies Group (RTG) chief Raja Koduri tweeted about the "Vega10" development team crossing a milestone back in June, a recent tease from the Senior Director, Global Marketing and Public Relations, Radeon Technologies Group at AMD Chris Hook himself is hinting that the long awaited GTX 1080 competitor may be coming sooner than expected.

Assuming that this isn't a pun from the man himself, this post on Facebook could potentially be the hint for the product launching venue of the Vega GPU, AMD's next generation high performance GPU featuring the 14nm FinFET technology, as well as the 2nd Generation stacked high-bandwidth memory HBM2 in the months to come, probably somewhere in October.
