LG V20 Unveiled - Smartphone for Audio/Video Geeks

LG has officially announced the latest iteration of the V series, the LG V20, the successor for last year's ultra durable, multimedia monster V10. The LG V20 takes the cake as the first ever smartphone ships with Android 7.0 Nougat out of the box.

Under the hood is the Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 coupled with 4GB of RAM, while internal storage gets the 64GB UFS configuration. If that's still not enough for your multimedia consumption, how about the support of micro SD card up to 2TB, yeah, as in terabytes.

At the front of the V20 is the same dual screen configuration as last year's V10. 5.7-inch 1440p Quad HD IPS panel for the primary screen and 2.1-inch 1040*160 pixel secondary screen that lives on the top right corner of the phone. The secondary screen serves multiple different purposes such as showing shortcuts or notifications.

Camera department received some slight updates. Gone is the dual front camera from the V10, now the selfie shooter is a 5MP f/1.9 which is quite mediocre. The rear camera gets the similar dual-camera configuration as the V10, a 16MP f/1.8 with OIS standard shooter and an 8MP f/2.4 wide angle shooter. The rear camera also gets Steady Record 2.0 which allows smooth and sharp video recording while on the move.

When V20 is regarded as a smartphone for Audio/Video geeks, they meant it seriously. LG equips the V20 with the 24-bit/48kHz Linear Pulse Code Modulation which enables professional high fidelity audio recording on a smartphone. On top of that, the inclusion of ESS Sabre ES9218 High Fidelity Quad DAC streams the highest quality audio out of the 3.5mm audio jack which is also capable of driving high-end headphones.

Keeping all those gooding stuff running is the 3200mAh battery which is removable. It supports USB Type C and Quick Charge 3.0. The V20 comes in 3 colour options, Titan, Silver and Pink. As the device begins to roll out in Korea, expect not too long for it to arrive our shores.
