Embrace the Modder in you: Live PC modding and tons of fun going on at Cooler Master's booth this Computex 2015

We've dropped by Cooler Master's booth over at Computex 2015 recently. They've released a bunch of products with a whole new concept, based on the roots of this company; The Maker Spirit. Being one of the most unique booths in Computex 2015 as you can see it's mostly based on the whole DIY concept.

A drink maker using a computer case? Yes! Powered by the typical components that you can find on a standard PC, and Arduino (the little blue board), packed in a Cooler Master MasterCase 5. Not only you can perform your basic computing task, or even gaming, you can make some cocktails while waiting for your next round of Dota 2.

Right beside the BarMixer V3 (the drink maker we've mentioned earlier), we can see a 3D printing machine. Since this time around, Cooler Master tries to embody the spirit of DIY, or case modding, so a 3D printing machine would definitely spice up the atmosphere. Here also we can see that someone is operating the 3D printing machine.

Case modding you say?

Cooler Master invited PC modders, Ron Lee Christianson (specializing in air brush painting) and also Lee Harrington (from pcjunkiemods.com) to do some live demonstration on modding.

Ron did an airbrush painting of the MasterCase 5 casing. Look neat doesn't it? While Lee deal with power tools to cut of bits and pieces to mod the MasterCase.

Not only did they deal with the makers of the physical things (like PC modding, drink making or 3D printing) they've also invited Dave Cooper, an indie game developer to showcase one of his work in progress, dubbed the Blockships.

One of the rendering rigs showcased with the MasterCase 5, powered by the Nvidia Quadro card.

So, do you think you can beat the pro gamer, Lisa "shifty" Catino, in a quick round of CS:GO?

They also have the Oculus Rift in their booth as well! A realistic experience of river crafting and all the Indiana Jones advventure.

The winning rig for Cooler Master's 2015 Case Mod competition is displayed here as well. It looks waaaaay cooler (pun intended) in real life. The winners did a good job :)

So, that's it. Cooler Master's very unique Computex 2015 booth setup right here. We'll be looking forward to what the MasterCase series casing has to offer when it comes to Malaysia.

Cooler Master Rekindles Maker Spirit, Launches ‘Make It Yours.’ Slogan

COMPUTEX’15, June 2, Taipei, - Cooler Master is launching a new slogan: “Make It Yours.” The slogan kicks off a new drive to harness “the Maker Spirit” in Cooler Master’s products and community.

“The maker spirit is that curiosity to know how and why things work, and the satisfaction that stems from taking ownership of something you make,” said Roger Lin, Cooler Master’s Chief Executive Officer. “People want unique products to express themselves, that’s human nature.”

As part of a drive to capture the maker spirit earlier this year, Cooler Master invited a team of renowned PC industry veterans, including Richard Surroz from the US, Peter Brands and Richard Kier of the Netherlands, Mathieu Heredia of France, and Ronnie Hara of Brazil (by way of Japan), to Taipei for a week-long workshop on the future of case technology.

The result was the development of a concept case, the MasterConcept, that combines cutting edge product design with feedback from some of the world’s leading modders and super users. As such, the MasterConcept is the ultimate makers’ case; its super flexible interior and exterior modularity allows anyone to create a PC that is uniquely theirs in form and function.

The ideas incorporated in the MasterConcept led directly to the creation of the MasterCase, which is being showcased by eight makers inside the Cooler Master booth at Computex. These eight makers include world-class case modder Lee Harrington, artist and sculptor Ron Lee Christianson, independent games designer Dave ‘drdavient’ Cooper, as well as industrial designer Lawrence Lee, and makers Yu-Kai Tai and Kai-Yu Kamm of MakerBar Taipei.

Cooler Master Launches MasterCase - World’s First Mid-Sized Modular Tower with Exterior Expandability

COMPUTEX’15, June 2, Taipei – Cooler Master is excited to announce the launch of the MasterCase, the world’s first mid-sized modular tower with exterior expandability. The MasterCase heralds a new family of cases that offer unparalleled control over form and function. It draws inspiration from the MasterConcept, a revolutionary concept case developed at Cooler Master Headquarters in Taipei.

“The MasterConcept represents a vision that every person’s PC case should be unique, and is a first step in a fundamental reimagining of our relationship with our fans and supporters,” said PS Tang, Vice President, Cooler Master. “Inspired by the MasterConcept’s revolutionary approach to interior and exterior modularity, the MasterCase represents the crest of this new wave of case technology.”

Cooler Master’s FreeForm™ Modular System
The MasterConcept and MasterCase break new ground in the way PCs are designed, made, bought and used. Fundamental to this reimagining is FreeForm™. Cooler Master wants users to have absolute control over how their case looks and functions. So FreeForm provides options to adjust the case exterior via the replacement of panels and doors, while also offering unparalleled flexibility for a mid-sized case in terms of interior layout.

Computex 2015 will see Cooler Master debut the MasterCase 5, a 460mm-tall modular tower that comes in three distinct iterations: MasterCase 5, MasterCase Pro 5 and MasterCase Maker 5.

Users can choose from the MasterCase 5’s dual top handles and standard door, the MasterCase Pro 5’s elevated mesh top cover, or the sleek lines, solid top cover and brooding, open-vent front door of the MasterCase Maker 5.

In the MasterCase, FreeForm allows a single case to support a host of different configurations, enabling users to upgrade rather than replace their case and system. Through a unique clip-and click panel, FreeForm also lets users vertically adjust or entirely remove drive cages, allowing for multiple system configurations like home servers, water-cooled workstations, or gaming rigs with dual-slot extra-long graphics cards.
